A younger woman has died after attending a nightclub in Glasgow on New Year’s Day, the venue has stated.

Announcing the tragic information on social media on Saturday, the venue SWG3 provided its condolences to the unnamed woman’s family members and stated it has been in touch together with her household. It comes after the deaths of two youngsters at the nightclub in August, which had been investigated by police as drug-related.

Following its report of the third dying there in below six months, SWG3 acknowledged the “pervasive issue of drug use in today’s society” and insisted it took “significant measures” to stop the entry of unlawful substances into the nightclub.

The venue added that it has paused some upcoming occasions to “re-examine and consider the wider factors that can lead to such heartbreaking incidents”.

Scott Allison and Marcus Dick, each aged 18, grew to become unwell after attending an occasion SWG3 in August.

Mr Allison died after he was discovered at Croy railway station in Cumbernauld, North Lanarkshire, at round 11.20pm on Saturday 12 August. Mr Dick grew to become unwell whereas nonetheless at the venue in Eastvale Place, Kelvinhaugh, and died in Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, Glasgow within the early hours of Sunday 13 August.

Police beforehand stated the deaths had been being handled as drug-related however should not believed to be linked. The two weren’t recognized to one another.
