Border Patrol agents apprehended an illegal immigrant with a previous conviction for murder this week, authorities introduced on Friday, making it the tenth such arrest because the fiscal yr started in October.
The illegal alien from El Salvador was arrested on Thursday, and Border Patrol Chief Jason Owens stated he had been beforehand convicted of murder.
“So far in FY24 (since Oct. 1st), USBP has arrested 10 subjects with homicide/murder convictions,” Owens stated on X, previously generally known as Twitter.

The arrest comes amid common apprehensions of criminals coming throughout the southern border among the many hundreds of thousands of illegal immigrants hitting the U.S. border every year.

I don’t know what their intention is. I don’t know what they brought with them. That unknown represents a risk, a threat. It’s of great concern to anybody that wears this uniform.”
Meanwhile, in Washington, D.C., lawmakers are negotiating with the administration over a $14 billion border safety funding request as half of the emergency supplemental.
