A person who allegedly flew from Heathrow to New York without a passport or boarding move has been arrested.

The Metropolitan Police stated Craig Sturt was detained in Richmond, south-west London, on Monday at round 8am on suspicion of failing to seem at court docket.

The 46-year-old, of Slough, Berkshire, is accused of slipping by means of Heathrow Airport’s safety checks without presenting paperwork earlier than boarding a British Airways flight to John F Kennedy airport on December 23 final yr without a passport or boarding move.

He was first arrested at round 8pm on Christmas Day after arriving again in London on a flight from New York.

Scotland Yard stated he was charged with acquiring providers by deception, being unlawfully airside and boarding an plane without permission.

After pleading responsible to the offences at Uxbridge Magistrates’ Court, he failed to seem for sentencing on January 22.

Following his arrest on Monday he stays in custody at a London police station.

British Airways stated in a press release: “We are assisting the authorities with their investigation.”
