Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton mentioned Thursday his state has no plans to comply with an order from the Biden administration to grant Border Patrol agents entry to a riverfront park that’s on the heart of a border dispute.

Paxton forged doubts on the prospect of a bodily confrontation between state and federal officers, predicting that the matter would play itself out within the courts.
That prediction is shared by National Border Patrol Council Vice President Chris Cabrera, who additionally advised Fox News on Thursday you’d be “hard-pressed” to get a Border Patrol agent to go up towards their counterparts, i.e., Texas National Guard, on the bottom.

A DHS spokesperson advised Fox News that implementing immigration regulation is a “federal responsibility.”

“Rather than helping to reduce irregular migration, the State of Texas has only made it harder for frontline personnel to do their jobs and to apply consequences under the law,” the spokesperson mentioned. “We can enforce our laws and administer them safely, humanely, and in an orderly way.”
