American Airlines is testing new technology to finish a course of generally known as “gate lice,” which is when passengers reduce traces in hopes of boarding a flight early.

The slang time period “gate lice” has gained traction on social media in recent times. Though it is not identified who invented the phrase, a number of travel blogs and Reddit boards focus on “gate lice” at size.
Some vacationers took to social media to share their ideas on American Airlines’ new alert system that was designed to preserve passengers from skipping traces.
“If airlines enforced carry-on policies, there would be more overhead bin space and passengers wouldn’t be in such a rush to get on the plane,” posted a girl on X.
