Chancellor Jeremy Hunt ‘missed a massive opportunity’ to enhance flagging electric car (EV) gross sales within the spring Budget this month, critics have stated.

The chancellor ignored business calls to introduce more incentives for personal EV patrons, together with halving VAT on new EV gross sales; slicing VAT on public charging to 5 per cent and scrapping new bands that may see EV homeowners pay Vehicle Excise Duty from 2025.
