As the supervisor of two care properties in Wrexham, Gaynor Jones felt her sector was “thrown under a bus by the government” as a result of the recommendation was unworkable.

“For example, you cannot isolate people with dementia, they’re just not safe. And staying six feet away from someone you’re delivering personal care to is impossible,” she stated.

Instead, from Easter 2020, every care residence shaped their very own bubble, and employees didn’t depart for six weeks.

“Within 24 hours I had nine volunteers for each home, they packed their bags and moved in,” she stated. It meant the properties didn’t have one Covid-related dying throughout the first wave,” she added.

“It’s something I’ll always be proud of.”
