A hospital in Kent welcomed a go to from a miniature pony this week, as a part of an ongoing drive to use animal remedy to increase affected person restoration and expertise.
Therapy pony George, a four-year-old Miniature Shetland, trotted into Medway NHS Foundation Trust’s Sheppey Frailty Unit – a lot to the delight of patients and employees.
‘’For most patients, it’s one thing new and completely different – remedy animals like George will help to enhance individuals’s well-being and psychological well being,” proprietor Michelle Burney mentioned.
“It was lovely to see the sheer joy on their faces when we walked in.”
George represents the Faversham-based organisation George And Friends Animal Therapies, run by Ms Burney, a former NHS employee.
