Labour’s shadow defence secretary has urged Rishi Sunak to set out the federal government’s actions to “pursue the path of peace” in the Middle East.

John Healey made the feedback after Iran launched an “unprecedented” assault on Israel, which it mentioned was in retaliation in opposition to a strike on an Iranian diplomatic compound in Syria earlier this month.

Israel mentioned Iran launched 170 drones, greater than 30 cruise missiles and not less than 120 ballistic missiles in an assault that set off air raid sirens throughout the nation.

“This is the most serious and most dangerous moment since Hamas launched that unprecedented terror attack on Israel on October 7,” Mr Healey advised BBC Breakfast on Monday 15 April.
