Long A&E wait times lead to more than 250 needless deaths a week – analysis

Sir David Spiegelhalter, emeritus professor of statistics within the Centre for Mathematical Sciences, University of Cambridge, instructed BBC Radio 4’s Today programme: “It sort of seems intuitive that if you wait a long time in a corridor or somewhere else waiting to be admitted, an average of six hours now, that that’s going to harm people.”
