President Joe Biden thanked Congressional leaders Saturday after the Senate handed a controversial six-bill authorities funding package in the early hours of the day following a short partial authorities shutdown. 

“Thank you to Leaders Schumer and McConnell, Senators Murray and Collins, Speaker Mike Johnson, Leader Jeffries, and Representatives Granger and DeLauro, for their leadership,” Biden stated in an announcement.

The President referred to as the mammoth $1.2 trillion spending package “a compromise,” which, he stated, “means neither side got everything it wanted.”

The President proceeded to name the package “good news for the American individuals.

“But I want to be clear: Congress’ work isn’t finished,” Biden continued in the assertion. 

He went on to induce the House of Representatives to move the bipartisan nationwide safety supplemental and Congress to move the bipartisan border safety settlement, calling it “the roughest and fairest reforms in decades” in a method to safe the border.

“It’s time to get this done,” Biden stated.
