Croatia’s parliament was dissolved on Thursday to pave the way for a parliamentary election later this year.

All 143 of a complete of 151 lawmakers who have been current on the session voted in favor of the transfer.

The date of the election is but to be set. Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic has recommended it needs to be held earlier than the vote for the European Parliament, which will probably be held on June 6-9.

The upcoming vote in Croatia will pit ruling conservative Croatian Democratic Union towards a bunch of heart and left-leaning events who’ve introduced they may run in a coalition.

Plenkovic and his HDZ get together have confronted mounting accusations of high-level corruption from the opposition forward of the poll. He has denied the claims.

Croatia is slated to maintain a presidential election as nicely by the tip of the year.

Plenkovic’s HDZ largely has held energy since Croatia gained independence from the previous Yugoslavia in 1991.
