Sir Keir Starmer dismissed requires a by-election following Lee Anderson’s resolution to defect from the Conservative Party to Reform UK.

The Ashfield MP introduced his transfer in a press convention on Friday, 11 March, throughout which he claimed his mum and pa had informed him they’d not vote for him except he switched to Richard Tice’s celebration.

Mr Anderson has dominated out calling a by-election, telling the BBC it “would be pretty reckless for me to suggest a by-election when we could have a general election in May”.

The Labour chief made an identical assertion, telling Sky News: “Forget about Lee Anderson, let’s have a general election.”
