Democratic Gov. Tony Evers signed a bill Wednesday that authorizes spending a whole lot of thousands and thousands of {dollars} on Universities of Wisconsin building and renovation initiatives.

The governor signed the bill privately on Wednesday morning. The measure is a part of a deal Republican lawmakers reduce with UW regents in December that limits variety positions throughout the UW system in change for cash to cowl workers pay raises and building initiatives.

The bill transfers $423.3 million from the state’s normal fund to the capital enchancment fund and authorizes $110.2 million in borrowing to construct a brand new engineering constructing at UW-Madison, renovate dorms at UW-Whitewater and heating and cooling vegetation throughout the system and fund demolition work.
