Ahead of a debate on calls for a ceasefire in Gaza, Prime Minister Rishi Sunak mentioned the federal government backed an “immediate humanitarian pause” in the Middle East.
Responding to a query from the SNP’s Patricia Gibson, he mentioned “calling for an immediate full ceasefire now” risked preventing beginning once more inside days or even weeks and was “not in anyone’s interest”.
He mentioned the federal government was dedicated to discovering a “lasting resolution” with a two-state answer.
