Sen. Joe Manchin, D-W.Va., introduced Friday that he will not be operating for president, taking pictures down months of hypothesis that he would be part of the race on a 3rd get together ticket.
“I will not be seeking a third party run, i will not be involved in a presidential run,” Manchin mentioned.
Manchin made the announcement throughout a speech at West Virginia University as a part of his “listening tour” that kicked off final month along with his daughter’s marketing campaign group “Americans Together” — a motion that touts itself because the “moderate majority” that rejects the “extremism in politics.”
“I’m working with my daughter, working with people that we have around Americans Together and putting all my efforts toward that,” Manchin mentioned Friday.
Manchin beforehand mentioned he would not decide on whether or not he would run till after Super Tuesday on March 5.
On Thursday on the Cleveland City Club breakfast discussion board, Manchin mentioned in a hypothetical run, he would faucet Sen. Mitt Romney, R-Utah, or former Ohio senator Rob Portman to be his vice presidential operating mate.
