A four-month-old boy has died in a horror crash in Leeds that left three different folks in hospital.
The boy died following the collision which occurred close to Leeds, West Yorkshire, round 4.55pm on Monday.
The crash concerned a Vauxhall Vivaro van which was travelling northbound when it was in a head-on collision with a Toyota Auris.
The 54-year-old male driver of the van was arrested on suspicion of inflicting critical harm by harmful driving, whereas two feminine passengers of the car had been rushed to hospital.
Previously, the highway was absolutely closed to visitors as emergency providers managed the crash. Pictures from the scene present police accident indicators blocking the highway off with 5 visitors cones.
Police, two fireplace crews, an air ambulance and 4 ambulances known as to the scene as car was pictured ablaze shortly after the crash.
At the time of the crash, thick black smoke was noticed by residents who had been close by. Danielle Dumpling, 41, was with son Dex, 14, after they witnessed the crash.
“People were helping get someone out of the car. We heard an explosion and the smoke billowed up.” Ms Dumpling informed the Yorkshire Evening Post.
