Rishi Sunak insisted his views on issues facing transgender people are “not controversial” after facing criticism for a jibe throughout Prime Minister’s Questions final week.

The prime minister confronted backlash after accusing Sir Keir Starmer of not with the ability to “define a woman” whereas Esther Ghey, the mom of murdered transgender teenager Brianna Ghey, was visiting Parliament.
