“I used to beg myself, ‘Be happy. Feel better. Be positive,’” El Moussa reflected. “But, inside, I used to be dying. … It takes quite a lot of onerous work to get out of a nasty spot in relation to your psychological well being. But the excellent news is that you would be able to. It simply takes quite a lot of onerous work. … You need to get to the basis of dependancy. What causes the dependancy? According to the star, he was already grappling with his mental health before the steroid shots started.

Following his public split from his wife, the father of three chose to live in a halfway house.

“I didn’t know the place to go,” said El Moussa. “I used to be fully misplaced. I used to be alone. I stop testosterone chilly turkey. My hormones had been everywhere. I used to be mentally and bodily unwell. I wanted somebody to handle me. I used to be unable to handle myself. Through some pals, I ended up at a midway home, which turned out to be the most effective factor I may have completed as a result of it was the help I wanted.”

El Moussa and Hall co-hosted “Flip or Flop” for 10 seasons. They filmed their series post-split before the show came to an end in 2022. El Moussa said it was difficult putting on a brave face on set as his breakup played out on the world’s stage.

But one day during filming, El Moussa said he finally accepted that “life wasn’t truthful.”

“I mentioned, ‘It’s time for me to begin working on my new life,’” he recalled. “I knew it was going to be difficult. I knew it was going to take a very long time. I knew it wasn’t going to be straightforward, however I knew I had no different choices. So, I started working.”

Today, El Moussa said he’s “more healthy and happier” than he’s ever been. And he even found love again. In 2021, he said “I do” to Heather Rae Young, the “Selling Sunset” star and former Playboy mannequin. They welcomed their first youngster in 2023.

“After the primary date, I [thought], ‘I can marry this girl,’” he chuckled. “I actually favored Heather. But there was some extent, I believe it was like 9 months into our relationship, it was me and Heather on the boat with the youngsters. She had [my daughter] Taylor on one aspect of her chest and [my son] Brayden on the opposite. She was cuddling them, and so they had been all napping. It was at that second once I thought, ‘She’s the one.’”

El Moussa learned plenty of lessons from his first union, he insisted.

“The greatest lesson is you get what you set in,” he shared. “That’s it. Just like the rest in life. … Pretty easy, huh?”

The one role El Moussa cherishes most? Being a father.

“Hands down,” he said. “It’s the most effective factor on this planet. It’s my favourite a part of my life. I’m obsessive about my youngsters. … We play chess, we play video video games, we play basketball, we run round the home. I really like watching them play sports activities. … I really like being a dad. I might say essentially the most thrilling a part of my life is my household. I really like my household. I really feel so fortunate, and I’m simply so grateful for the life I’ve.”

El Moussa wants his book to give readers the courage to flip their lives, no matter how tough things are for them.

“Most folks don’t imagine it till they see another person do it,” he said. “The four-minute mile was inconceivable till somebody did it. Now lots of people are doing it. So, I believe that by studying my story, it’s going to present folks hope.”
