A fireplace engulfed the roof of a block of flats in (*20*), London, on Monday night (29 January).
The blaze broke out at a property on Elm Road, prompting London Fire Brigade (LFB) to dispatch 20 fireplace engines and round 125 firefighters in response.
Residents adopted their evacuation process and have been assisted by firefighters upon arrival and an adjoining four-storey block was evacuated as a precaution, LFB stated.
People have been suggested to keep away from the realm and close by residents have been instructed to maintain their doorways and home windows shut to keep protected from any smoke within the space.
The explanation for the hearth was not identified at the time of reporting.
