Lynne Marta, whose three-decade movie performing profession ran from 1971 to 2002, has died. She was 78.

In July 1989, Marta was a witness to the homicide of younger actor Rebecca Schaeffer.
Marta was in her condominium, a couple of toes down the corridor from the place Schaeffer was fatally shot by obsessive fan Robert John Bardo.
