Watch reside as Labour MPs query the government on the prices of its Rwanda plan throughout an Opposition Day Debate on Tuesday, 9 January.

The debate comes as Rishi Sunak faces a showdown with MPs over the laws when it returns to the Commons subsequent week.

Penny Mordaunt has introduced that the Safety of Rwanda (Asylum and Immigration) Bill’s committee stage will happen on 16 and 17 January.

The laws is aimed toward overcoming the Supreme Court’s objections to the stalled plan to deport some migrants to the African nation.

It seeks to allow Parliament to deem Rwanda “safe” typically however makes restricted allowances for private claims towards being despatched there.

Critics of the invoice on the correct need the controversial laws to be tightened, whereas extra centrist Tories have stated they may oppose the invoice if it dangers breaching worldwide legislation.
