Sinéad O’Connor’s cause of death has been introduced, six months after the Irish singer died aged 56.

The “Nothing Compares 2 U” singer died on 26 July after she was discovered unresponsive at a residential deal with in Herne Hill, south-east London.

She was pronounced useless on the scene, with native police saying on the time that her death was not being handled as suspicious.

While no cause of death was given on the time, a coroner dominated on Tuesday (9 January) that the Dublin-born O’Connor died of pure causes.

In an announcement, a spokesperson for Southwark Coroners Court stated: “This is to confirm that Ms O’Connor died of natural causes. The coroner has therefore ceased their involvement in her death.”

Brit Award-winner O’Connor was buried in Bray, County Wicklow, in August, in a ceremony attended by Irish officers, household, mates and her musical colleagues.

Her death got here months after the death of her 17-year-old son Shane, who died by suicide in January 2022. In the wake of her son’s death, O’Connor stated that she would by no means carry out once more as there was “nothing to sing about”, and subsequently cancelled her forthcoming tour dates.
