An aged lady driver has died after hitting a fallen tree which had been reported fallen to police round 90 minutes earlier as Storm Henk battered the nation.
The 87-year-old, who has not been named, was in a pink Smart Forfour when she collided with it close to Crays Pond, Oxfordshire at round 5.25pm on Tuesday.
Thames Valley Police has referred itself to the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) because the fallen tree was considered one of quite a lot of related experiences acquired roughly an hour and a half earlier than the collision.
It comes after Storm Henk introduced 100mph winds, heavy rain and journey chaos to giant elements of the UK earlier this week.
